Choosing programs after a long trip

Situation: 49 years young. Currently week 7 of Bridge 1.0 after a layoff. Closing in on previous PRs without feeling destroyed - thanks for encouraging me to go the volume route, Dr. Baraki. I ran the Bridge at maintained elementary and remain fluffy. In about 2 months I will be going on a number of multi day backpacking trips at altitude. Being lighter and more conditioned would be a benefit, so planning on running GPP Endurance and running a calorie deficit. My question is what to run after my trip. I will be away three weeks, with very limited access to training facilities, so I expect to be detrined by the end. I will also likely be time crunched at work. Would Time Crunch makes sense if I am detrained? Or wwould one of the Bridge programs make more sense? Or door number three?

As an aside, way back in 2012 Jordan stated he would keep intensity high and drop volume for a lifter undergoing a cut. Is this still the current thinking, or has your opinion evolved? Or is it more nuanced?

I would just run the Bridge again. Also, where did I say I would keep intensity high and drop volume during a cut? As far back as 2015, I said

More so I tend to maintain standard training protocols that are appropriate for the individual at their current rate of fatigue tolerance during a cut. That said, most people are undertrained so I find that in general, volume has to go up for many folks. I don’t try and prescribe cuts during intensity phases unless we’re continuing to lean out as we enter one.

It was in 2012 - early I think. It was on the nutrition board at SS - was reading it as I wrote my question, but don’t remember search terms I used. I’ll look for it. The response was probably more nuanced than my summary.

I’m going to take from you quote above that I should keep volume up should I engage in future cutting (post Endurance GPP.) Thanks for all the info you guys put out - it has brought me back into the (garage) gym with renewed focus.
