Clarification on Exercise after Covid-19 Vaccines

Hello Drs.

I’m sorry to bother you with another one of these vaccine questions, but I want to get un-nocebo’ed, and you are the best at this.

I’m about to get my 2nd dose (Pfizer), and there is some fear-mongering going on in my social circle. They’ve seen news about people who have died from exercising after taking the vaccine, supposedly due to issues of the heart induced from heavy lifting/cardio (which I’m not completely sure about). Even in one of my relative’s country (Singapore), the government has advised people to take a week off from intense activity after being vaccinated, following the death of a 16 year old boy.

With the 1st dose, I had no issues apart from a DOMS-like pain for a couple of days around the injected site.

I’m assuming that none of this would have any significant negative effect, but a green light from you would seal the deal.

Many thanks

We can’t give you specific medical advice, but there isn’t any reason to avoid physical activity after vaccination. We talk about this in our immune system podcast.
