Coming back from injury, programming logistics

I’m coming off an extended layoff from normal squat/deadlift training (I trained them, just very submaximally and with modified ROM). I was able to train pressing movements normally over this time period. I now plan to start the beginner template for squats and deadlifts but want to do 12 week strength for my pressing movements. Any ideas on how to combine the two logistically?

Glad to hear you’re feeling better! I would recommend just plugging in an upper body exercise from 12WS each time one pops up in the Beginner template. I’d do this for 1 single phase of the Beginner Template- run that until it stops working, then switch programming. To be clear, I would use the movement, volume, and RPE programming from the 12WS template for the upper body lifts in place of the upper body lifts on the Beginner Template.
