Recently, I heard one coach, who said, that training concentric phase for hamstring strength development is useless because of the fact, that during gait or running people don’t need it, since those muscle group is used to slowed down/decelerate movement and it’s done by eccentric contraction. Could you refer to that opinion?
Turns out, humans use their hamstrings concentrically for other movements besides walking and running…like standing up, for example. Also, the concentric hamstring contractions are involved in some sprinting phases too so…idk man.
