Do you think creatine cause hair loss/baldness? This examine article seems pretty indifferent but doesn’t rule it out.
Creatine doesn’t cause hair loss based on present data. Additionally, hair loss is quite complex and not just related to DHT levels. Further, increased serum DHT doesn’t necessarily mean increased DHT at the level of the hair follicle. Finally, alterations in DHT levels are also coupled with DHT receptor density changes, which are regulated by multiple different things.
I wouldn’t be afraid of creatine.
Thanks, made it to 26 and the hairline’s still holding strong. Hoping to keep it that way lol
Hey! I think you should ask a health professional, just click here and get for info,
Hi Jordan, my apologies for being redundant, but I have been dealing with hair thinning for the last 8 years and have somehow been able to curb it (it has slowed down significantly). I really want to start supplementing creatine (maintenance dose of 5g per day), but I am worried if I might risk indirect aggravation of the existing hair thinning condition. I cannot say if my hair thinning is genetic or not, as nobody in my family really has it; I might just be unlucky.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but does bulking increase testosterone levels? Does that in turn increases DHT levels (I understand increased serum DHT doesn’t necessarily mean increased DHT at the level of the hair follicle)? Is there any likelihood of creatine supplementation indirectly aggravating my condition? I’m just trying to understand what level of risk I might be dealing with, if there is any at all.
