Cut or recomp... still confused

Hi, I’ve been training for about 1 year (SSLP prolonged by some breaks due to life), and now I’m on the second week of bridge 1.0 after 2 weeks of vacation (no training and a lot of walking).
My stats:

  1. height: 5.8’’ (173 cm), weight ~182 lbs (82 kg), waist ~34’‘’ (86-88 cm), BF ~20-25% (navy test)
  2. squat E1RM: ~270 lbs (120 kg), DL E1RM: ~270 lbs (120 kg), bench E1RM: ~170 lbs (~67kg) For squat and DL maybe I can do more than these E1RMs, at beginning of august I could do set of fives with those weights.

Up until now I was concerned about my strength only, and in the first months of training I added up 45 lbs (20 kg) of bodyweigth. My priorities have now changed, and now I equally value both strength and aesthetics. Considering that I look a bit fluffy around my belly, I’m not sure what would be the optimal strategy for improving aesthetically (and still get stronger too).

Actually I know I should gain some LBM, however I don’t know if it’s better to drop some weight and then slowly gain or to stay at this BW. The source of my confusion derives from my understanding that in general, in order to put LBM, you need to increase your BW.

Regarding my macros I currently eat ~150 grams of carbs/day and my main source of proteins is chicken breast. I usually eat 300 grams/day (distributed in two meals) of chicken breast which should correspond to about 90-100 grams of proteins. I know it’s a bit low compared to the values given in the article “to be a beast”, but it would become too much meat to eat in only two meals if I had to follow those recommendations. I’m considering to get some more proteins through protein shakes though.

Thanks in advance.

I don’t think I’d gain weight given your body fat, but you’re relatively undertrained and I think maintaining weight would be a good option for you. I also think I’d eat more protein than you’re eating right now.
