I am a 24 year old male who has been training consistently for less than 6 months. I ran SSLP and am finishing the Bridge 1.0. My eRM are 385 squat, 425 deadlift, 225 bench, and 150 press (tore a pec last year had it surgically repaired.) I am 235lbs currently with a waist of 35” and body fat of 13% by Navy standards and 32% by DEXA. My macros are 230pro, 350carbs, and 100g of fat. I am wanting to continue getting stronger, build muscle, and be relatively lean and healthy. I am wondering if anyone has advice as to whether I should continue to gain weight slowly or should I maintain or even lose weight to help with performance/Health/aesthetics? I was planning to run the 3 day hypertrophy template after completing the Bridge and want to match my nutrition as best I can I am just unsure what would be best for long term development. Thanks!
This is consult territory for sure, but that waist measurement seems unlikely unless you’re fairly tall given the DEXA report.
I don’t think I’d gain a lot of weight without knowing more about you, but you’ve only been training for 6 months and so I think there just needs to be more time training appropriately. The 3 day hypertrophy template would be good to run, then the 12 week strength or similar, then reassess.
That said, much of what you’re asking here is consult territory.
Apologies Dr. Jordan, I just submitted a Questionnaire for a consultation with BBM. I appreciate the response!
