Deadlift Blocks Recommendations?

I’m looking to buy some blocks for block pulls. My gym doesn’t have any blocks and I’m not in a position to make DIY deadlift blocks.

I herniated discs in my back from rugby a few years ago, have poor anthropometry (hips higher than shoulders at step 4 of deadlift set up - makes achieving rigid lower back extension borderline impossible) and end up tweaking my lower back every few months.
Soon before COVID caused my gym to close, I pulled from the rack (at ~ 2 inches higher than the floor) a few times, didn’t lose any lower back extension and my back has felt great. As a result, I’m looking for blocks that allow me to pull from 2-3 inches higher than the floor. (Don’t want to pull from rack and damage the barbells).

I’m on a budget (so the Rogue blocks are out of the question) and these ones seem to be my best bet → https://www.dcblocksusa.com/shop.html
videos of them in action → https://www.instagram.com/dcblocks/

Do these blocks seem to be of sufficient quality?
Do you guys have any recommendations for any other blocks?

Thanks guys!

Ortho,

Thanks for the post. I think it is important to point out that it’s unlikely your back flexing a little (or even a lot) caused your back tweak. Rather, it was likely a load management issue.

To your question, DC blocks are great, or you could just use rubber tiles/squares (pre made or cut from a horse stall mat).

I’d like to see your deadlift prior to ruling out pulling from the floor.
