Deadlift Form Reset

History - 2 month LP to Bridge to Hyper GPP to Bridge 3.1

I am now currently rerunning Bridge 3.1

I’ve known for a while (or had a feeling) that I need to work on deadlift form. Probably too much rounding at weights where back should be straighter and my body shifts forward considerably before I get the bar off the floor. My weights have continued to go up so I’ve tried making adjustments but I haven’t taken weight off the bar. Attempting these adjustment has been a fruitless endeavor, shocker.

I’m on my first week of my rerun of Bridge 3.1 and I brought down my weights and achieved what I perceived as much better form (which I believe will correlate better with my long term goals).

This is week I did 325x1@8 (previous best 2 weeks ago was 380x1@8.5) without any bad form issues I previously had.

Should consider staying on this course of action. Continue to work up the weights from here? It’s tough but I’m willing to check my ego

Thanks for your input. I can put videos of form up if that’s of any help

Hi Elliot,

This is a very fine course to take. We don’t do form checks here in the moderated section, but you are welcome to post a video in the unmoderated section or on the FB page. Without seeing your specific form, in general, if you know that your DL position can be improved, it’s a good thing to work on it. You don’t want to let perfect become the enemy of the good, but since we’re in this for the long-term, taking a relatively short time in your life to work on fixing this is likely a profitable venture.

Leah,

Thanks!
