Deadlifts and overhead extensions

Hello
Thank you for all of your help and answering all of my questions I really appreciate it
I have gotten great results from your routines and am very thankful

The back deadlift is not one of the default preferred listed exercises on Bb2 routine. In your opinion, if hypertrophy and aesthetics is our goal, is back deadlift needed? Should we rotate it into leg day during various blocks? Or it’s not needed and the other leg exercises are better for aesthetics? I am doing bent over rows anyway.

For overhead tricep extensions and skull crushers, is dumbbells or ez bar better?

And last I really like the peri rx esp the new formulation. On website it says it’s most effective if taken pre workout, but then says to take every day. Is it ok to take only pre workout so say 4 days a week, or should we take it every day meaning the 3 non lifting days also? There has been some debate on if sweeteners are good for our health or not Vs regular sugar, if we take this every day would the sucralose be ok for our health? I am not using any other sweeteners in my diet as I drink the unflavored whey and add fruit. Wondering if you’d ever consider making a unflavored peri rx or using monk fruit or coconut sugar or something, or sucralose is safe if we take it every day? Thank you!

AC,

Happy to help. I try to answer your questions as best as possible with the time I have available. I’m hopeful that you and others benefit from reading the responses carefully.

The Romanian Deadlift (RDL) is set as the default “main hinge” movement in the Bodybuilding 2 program. It is equivalent to a deadlift from the floor with respect to hypertrophy potential in my opinion. If someone wanted to train a deadlift from the floor instead, that’d be fine. I do not think bent over rows are a good exercise for the legs.

In a similar comparison, I do not have a firm opinion on which implement is best for overhead triceps work. I personally prefer a seated OH triceps extension machine, if available. If not, I tend to use a low pulley with whatever attachment is nearby. A french press is a fine variation to do with dumbbells. Again, it’s personal preference.

Yes, PeriRx works the best for improving workout performance when taken before a workout. However, it also has ingredients that should likely be taken daily to improve performance, recovery, and training adaptations, e.g. creatine, betaine, and so on. If you take it less frequently, I do think it is still likely to improve performance, but perhaps not as consistently as faily use.

I do not agree that sucralose is harmful to health and as such, I do not personally see a need for unflavored whey. That said, the market may be interested in this and perhaps we will do this at some point. Our current chocolate whey uses stevia, which I think is better-tasting than monk fruit or coconut sugar. All of these sweeteners are safe though.
