Hi BBM,
I enjoy your site and have listened to many of your podcasts and read threads and articles on pain and arthritis. As someone who has had many issues with my hips, it seems that most of the discussions on these topics revolve around knees and shoulders (and back) with very little discussion on hip arthritis and chronic hip pain. Is there a reason for this? Is it just less common, or is there a difference between the hip joint and the other joints with regards to treatment or surgical intervention that lead you to not discussing it as much if at all? With regards to surgery, I know you have discussed studies that show knee and back surgeries have poor outcomes in general. I have read that hip replacement surgery, however has a very high success rate (with regards to outcomes), but hip resurfacing not so much. I’d love to have a podcast or article with more focus on the hips!
Regards,
Brian
