GH shoulder OA

Greetings doctor’s. So I’m 41, male 6’ 190. Don’t know if that pertains here or not. I’ve got pretty bad osteoarthritis in the GH joint of both shoulders. X-ray just showed a pretty large osteophyte on the bottom of the humerus head on the right side. According to my ortho it’s not in contact with the RC or any other tendons so I guess the is no danger of it causing damage there.

So question is do I get the osteophyte shaved off? I’m not in much pain. A little achy here and there. But I know these things don’t go away on their own. For the record I had a debridement on my left shoulder 2yrs ago. That one was out of necessity thought.

Based on what you’ve told us, I don’t see why you would. No significant pain, we’re assuming you can train, and it doesn’t seem to be causing any problems that would make surgery a “necessity”.

Thanks for the response. Yes I can train. My press is pretty weak but getting some coaching from Beau at Westminster next week. Honestly my doctor’s reaction put a pretty good scare in me, “your shoulder image looks SO bad!” Then I’m kinda thinking should I be worried about this? Is it that bad??

Probably not.
