Digestion and Birth

Hey Jordan and Austin,

I have ridiculous question that I already know the answer to but would still like to ask solely for learning the psychology aspect of physicians, “influencers” who are “expert” or the gut health crazed people.

As a personal trainer and coach myself, I have several female clients who are constantly talking about their gut issues (idk what this means). They claim no matter what they eat they are bloated, always rushing to use the restroom, and/or have an upset stomach. This leads me to my question, I’ve also heard the claim from one of these women that she heard from a podcast (Idk which one) that digestive issues in pregnant women are causing more and more births of autistic children. Is there ANY research at all for this claim and if not why would someone want to spread this lie besides trying to sell their “gut health coaching”?

Thanks

Absolutely not.

And I can’t speak to their reasons for spreading these completely made-up ideas.
