Hey guys, I have been training with Power building 1 and Power building 2 templates and have a question about the prescribed calf training. I am very content with the size of my calves and if anything rather not grow them any more than what the are now. I have just been skipping the calf raise exercises but lately have wondered if I am missing some strength gains that would carry over to squats or dead lifts. So should I; 1. Skip calves and not worry about it 2. Do the prescribed calf exercises and buy wide leg jeans 3. Sub in some other exercises in place of the calf training? Thanks in advance
I don’t think there’s much (if anything) to be gained in the squat and deadlift from direct calf training. Whether or not you should dedicate that time and training resources to more training load for other body parts is an open question. That’s probably what I’d favor personally, but would want to tailor it to the individual.
