Do High Reps to Recover From High Intensities

Hey all.

Do high reps around 10+ help you recover from training using heavy weights/higher intensities?

Since 10+ reps do induce more metabolic stress, more volume, more bloodflow to the muscles, therefore more nutrients delivered.

Is this bro science or does science back this idea up?

All activity induces some peripheral fatigue (e.g. muscle damage, energy depletion, fatigue product accumulation) as well as central fatigue. The relative proportion of these types of fatigues for a given activity varies, but higher reps still cost something. Being well-trained, e.g. consistent exposure to the task, good conditioning base, etc. helps with recovery.
