Do teenagers respond better to training and progress faster than older adults?

I’ve seen many commenters online and also some big names in the fitness and science based community express this sentiment. They basically say because “teenagers are producing more testosterone than they ever will again in their life” they will progress far faster and respond to training much more than adults in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s.

Is this actually true or not? I remember you guys saying as long as your testosterone is within the normal range it’s irrelevant for training outcomes, and I am pretty sure teenagers do in fact have test levels within the normal range.

(My question is specific to powerlifting training if that matters)

No, the relative improvement in strength, power, hypertrophy, and cardiorespiratory fitness is the same regardless of age, sex, or ethnicity.
