Endurance training and carbs

Hi Jordan, four questions for you:

1. How to efficiently combine endurance training ( running and cycling) and lifting? I’m aiming to get stronger, look better/ ripped and to improve my explosiveness.

2. I’m trying to hit about 650g of carbs on my higher intake days. So, do you have any ideas what to eat, especially for carbs? What is your main source of carbs?

3. Why do I look puffy after eating carbs (Cereals + Milk, Bread…)?

4. How does stress/cortisol affect water gain and why does it affect it?

Thanks for the post and for joining the forum.

  1. Many ways to skin this cat, but a representative example would be found here: Endurance Template - Barbell Medicine
  2. Fruits, veggies, rice, oats, cereals will get it done.
  3. There are no “puffy” foods, but if you eat in a calorie surplus, you will gain some fat mass.
  4. They don’t reliably.
