Apologies for the thread title. Its supposed to say Everybody’s best lift
What does everybody think their best lift is?
Do you think its your best lift because you are more naturally talented at it or because you trained it well. If you think you got it by training it well, what did you do?
Deadlift. I’ve got longish arms and decent grip from years of rock climbing/bouldering, so (relative to my bodyweight) it’s my best lift. I also find it the most straighforward to execute in competition.
That or the reverse lunge cable kickback (but gyms are closed right now).
I think they just stem more naturally from sports I play. I don’t know what sort of characteristics lead to some lifts falling behind others but certainly my squat and bench are “behind” as a multiplier of body weight over those 2.
Deadlift for sure, I have the typical daddylongleg/slenderman deadlift specialist build. Bench is pretty good too, but not on the same level as the deadlift.
Squat on the other hand is the bane of my existence, it’s just weak.
