Exercise before bedtime

Exercise and sleep are both very importen for health.

Is it true that it is bad for my sleep to exercise less than 2 hours before bedtime?

I sleep from 10 PM to 6 AM, and normally fall in sleep in 15-30 min., so I’m in my bed from 09:30 PM - 09:45 PM.

Will it be bad for my sleep to do 30 min. zone 2 exercise from 08:00 PM to 08:30 PM?

Some people experience sleep issues when exercising close to bed time. On average, it takes people longer to fall asleep, but they get into deeper sleep phases sooner. We talk about this a bit in our podcast on sleep.

I do not think z2 conditioning is likely to affect you much if at all. I feel even more strongly about this if you’re already doing the conditioning and sleeping just fine, e.g. not tired during the day.
