Hi Doctors,
currently I am on my second run of PB II (Week 10 right now)
My lifting days are Mo/Tu/Th/Fr and I am doing the GPP at the end of each lifting day a little more that 2 hours of time in the Gym.
Now I feel like a mofo’ing rocket on Monday doing my Squats nice Day RPE 7 all in all I would say.
Come Tuesday I feel completely smacked during my training and am happy to get through my workout (I have a quite demanding job as a Horseshoer but no big fatigue problems during work) I often write down something like RPE 8,5-9 for that day.
Thursday and Friday are not that bad and my power is back for the most part.
would it be an Idea to change monday’s and tuesday’s workoutplan? Or maybe do something like Monday/Wednesday/Friday/Saturday?
Is my Squat Day too fatiguing? (I think I really am on RPE 8 for my singles)
I start to get anxious even thinking about my training on tuesdays…
Have a nice day!
Hey Joshua,
Before answering, how is Tuesday’s workout going? If it’s going reasonably well despite being tired, I don’t see a strong reason to change schedule, though you could if you wanted to. I don’t see a problem with a session RPE of 8.5 to 9 here and there.

Hmm I mean …
Bench is ok I guess but I have a feeling that my progress in the Bench is a little slowed by the Squat fatigue but maybe that is expectable?
I was @ 112,5 kg for 4 Weeks now and I just couldnt see me doing 115@8 although I really wanted to.
Might sound weird but sometimes I also think that the Gym is too dark, maybe thats because of all the spotlights for the Bros to look swole in the mirror but I feel like going to sleep when its that dark. (Am going to build a homegym even if its in small steps).
Is a week off something you would suggest every once in a while or is that unnecessary?
Greetings
Josh,
What’s your last warm up set before 112.5? I wouldn’t expect you to have the exact same performance for 4 weeks running, so I’m digging a bit deeper. How are deadlifts going on day 2?
As far as a complete week off, that’s usually not something we recommend, though a deload week can be useful at the right time.
Usualy my last Warmup Set would be 100 kg.
Deadlifts are on Day 3 but I guess thats a typo. Deadlifts are good, some days better then others but never as bad as I feel on tuesdays bench Session. Most of the time I feel good doing them … its my favorit exercise and around 200 kg 1@8
Yea, this doesn’t strike me as something related to squat day being do fatiguing off hand.
I’d consider making your last warm up set on squats be ~ 105-107.5 to get a better handle on performance potential on a given day.
I think Joshua meant their bench is stuck at 112.5, cos that would be an unusual squat:deadlift ratio.
Squats are 162.5 1@8 right now… the 112.5 is my bench, but I understand your point so last Squat warmup something like 155kg probably
I would start to rethink warm-up weight selections on any lift that I’m doing the same weight week in and week out, as performance is typically more dynamic than that.
