Gpp chin ups

I can do unassisted chin ups. But… I can only do them one at a time in my 7 min I can complete 13 singles. How do I work up to sets?

Here’s what worked for me. It sounds like you’re at roughly one every 30 seconds right now on average. So next session, try something like 1 rep, 20 sec rest, 1 rep, 40 sec rest, repeat for 7 min. Then next time, try 1 rep, 15 rest, 1 rep, 45 rest, etc. Then next session after that, 1 rep, 10 rest, 1 rep, 50 rest, etc.

You’re basically trying to move towards doubles, with more rest between each pair.

You can also try assisted with a band (i.e. wrap one end of the band around the bar and either step or put your knees in the other end hanging down). Or use the assisted pull/chin up machine. Or, as Jordan has suggested, do lat pulldowns.

I am at home so no later pull downs. I do have a way to do assisted chins so I may use that when I am too tired or maybe every other chin thanks!

Since you’re at home, just do a non-fatiguing amount of chins every time you walk by the chin up bar. If you can do an all out set of only 3 chins, just do one chin multiple times a day, every day. You’ll be able to do a lot more chins in no time.
