Help choosing rack: yup another one of those

. I know this is a basic question but I’m trying to decide between a rogue SML-2, R3 24” depth, and R3 30” depth. I’ve got 8 feet of depth on my platform between the walls. I do deadlift, squat, bench, OHP and a few CrossFit moves and occasionally Olympic lift. I want to maximize free space to move but also want safety. I know the full cage is more safe, but the squat stands will give more open space (when spotter arms are off).

My question is this: in order to bench, what is the minimum distance from the back uprights to the back wall?

Thanks in advance for the thoughts and help! to back wall? Help choose rack/stands. I know this is a basic question but I’m trying to decide between a rogue SML-2, R3 24” depth, and R3 30” depth. If your uprights are 3” depth and you are using 450mm plates, my math says you’ll need at least 4-7/8” from the back uprights to the back wall. I recommend the full rack for extra safety. I have the R3 24” and no regrets. The rack and the 2x3 attachments cost less. Over it time, I added monolift attachment and strap safeties which are great for benching alone. It seems like the R3 24” will have a smaller footprint than the stands. It will leave you plenty of room on the platform for deadlift. I can’t say for Olympic lifts. Have you considered the fold back wall mount Rogue R3-W plus spotter arms which could give you most of your platform for Olympic lifts and the same level of safety as the stands?
