This may be beyond the scope of this forum but I was wondering what limitations you’d put on training for someone with a hiatal hernia. If it’s helpful , mine is 3cm , and I’ve also been diagnosed with intestinal displasia, gastritis, and esophagitis
How are you being treated?
Are you undergoing surveillance endoscopies?
Just had to firstperiod Next one scheduled for two years. Also diagnosed with intestinal metaplasia. 20 mg of acid blocker per day . GERD diet
Just had first endo resulting in diagnosis. Follow ups scheduled for two years later. Treatment: 20mg Prilosec/day, GERD diet,
As long as it’s being treated and monitored, I probably wouldn’t change much about training if I wasn’t experiencing substantial symptom exacerbations. The thing is, everything is a trade-off. There’s a cost / benefit consideration here: is it possible that continued training somehow exacerbates the hiatal hernia? Possibly. However, there are also risks associated with not training that I think tilt this decision in favor of training, at least for me.
Thanks for the response and all the good work you guys do.
I had a follow up with GI and asked him. If anything , he seemed even less concerned than you about the risks of exercise . Thought you might want to know. Thanks agai .
