Hook gripper and straps

I’m an early intermediate; I’ve recently finished SSNLP and am currently in week 3 of the Bridge 1.0. I typically use a hook grip for my deadlifts. With the increase in pulling accessory work, I’m considering using straps for rack pulls and continuing to use hook grip for regular deadlifts. My thumbs could use the rest. Any thoughts on using straps for accessories as a relatively new lifter?
