How much protein when loosing weight

Jordan your protein rules article says to eat the amount of protein that provides 3-4g of leucine, to eat that every 3-5 hours, and that the total amount of protein to shoot for in a day should be based primarily on these too factors.

There is also the common 1g /lb body weight or LBM.

I weigh 233lbs, 6ft in height, and a 45.5 inch waist. I’m running the beginner template after running a NLP and laying off for months and including a couple of days of jogging (25-30 mins) for cardio. Primary goal is to bring the waist line down.

Given that grams of leucine can vary by type of protein and my current goals what would you recommend for a target protein intake?

Will,

Thanks for the post. Our current protein recommendations are 1.6-3.0g/kg bodyweight, depending on a number of other factors. For you, I would advise 1.7g/kg bodyweight in protein per day.

Is the 1.6-3.0g/kg recommendation for total body mass or lean body mass?

Total body mass.

Thanks Jordan. How does one go about determining where they fall in the range?
