How often do you eat "junk" food?

I know this isn’t exactly up to the standards of this forum but I was genuinely curious how often the BBM team eats food that has no obvious health benefits. Are there any you particularly enjoy? Do you feel any guilt or negative responses afterward? I suppose I’m interested in just how disciplined you are on the subject.

I eat dessert a few times a week, which is pretty much the only “junk” food I enjoy on a semi-regular basis. If I’m trying to lose weight for a particular reason, I typically will cut this out or down in some way. If I liked other stuff like candy, chips, etc., I’d find a way to eat them regularly without enjoying them too regularly, ya dig?

Jordan - if not from dessert, where are your fat grams coming from? How much fat do you eat per day?

Peanut butter, dairy, and trace fats occurring in my protein and carbohydrate sources.

Thanks for the response! I find I’ll sometimes reach breaking points where I feel an intense craving for something sweet, usually a bar of dark chocolate. I’m trying to eliminate the guilt associated with this but it’s tricky. It’s odd, I feel actual hunger until this craving is met. Subbing it for frozen blueberries or other healthy sweet alternatives doesn’t seem to solve it. Since finding BBM I try to model most of my choices around the many articles/podcasts/forum posts and for whatever reason assumed the team has perfect discipline.

I don’t think our “discipline” or “willpower” is any different than yours. I do think we probably have different behaviors based on our environments, genetics, etc. Some of these things you can modify and some things you can’t. I see no reason why you can’t have dark chocolate as part of a health-promoting dietary pattern, thus I’m not sure I’d be trying to eliminate it.
