how to know if you are a beginner or intermediate

For years i was doing random “hypertrophy” training but i didnt see alot of results.
The last year i started doing five sets of five in the three lifts in order to get strong and i fell in love with strength training.
I was going for a new five rep PR i in every training session and i stalled pretty quick. I never did a SSLP.
I stared doing more research and i tried to programm for myself but for 3 months i didnt see alot of progress if any at all.
I decided to do the Bridge 1.0 and my lifts went from(all in kg) :
squat 140 → 145
bench 117,5 → 117.5
deadlift 170 → 175
my weight 92kg height 192cm

Does this kind of progress means that i am a beginner tryng to do something that i can’t tolerate or i need to do an intermidiate template ?
Is there a way of telling if somone is beginner or intermidiate?

Chris,

Thanks for the post. We don’t really use the term “intermediate”, as it doesn’t really help identify unique programming strategies for the individual. I do think that beginner can be useful for denoting someone new to training, but not necessarily their progression rate.

In your case, I think you’re relatively new to strength training and would recommend running our Beginner Template to see how it works for you and build a base that sets you up for long-term success.
