I am currently on PB III Week 9
I started to really see some drastic changes in my physique and I really like it. A little bit of the love handles has still to disappear but I got visible Abs now and the like.
I like my strength and my muscle gains but I realise that the heavier my sets get the more anxious I get about injury.
Deadlifts where always my favorit excerise but I have the feeling that I overthink too much and then almost f**k up my 1 reps sets (every rep after the first is not much of a problem weirdly enough) and it sometimes leads to me not looking forward to my training anymore but be in my head.
I thought about maybe trying a Hypertrophie focused program to build some more Volume and calm down in my training (does that make sense?)
Long talk … would I recognize a big drop in my strength if I would run eg Hypertrophie II or III maybe twice?
Have a nice day
Joshua,
To answer your question, no, you’re unlikely to lose a lot (or any) strength by switching programs. That said, I don’t know that you need more volume given your response to PB III already. You may find a happy medium by doing a set of 3-5 reps @ RPE 8 in place of your 1 @ 8. I would also consider addressing the beliefs you have about injury risk and strategies you’re using to het your singles to remove this barrier for the future.
Still, in the short term you have lots of options!

I thought about it for some days… would it be a valid approach to keep Squats and Bench at 1@8 and just do Deadlifts at 3 or 5@8?
I dont really know why the Deadlifts are so nerve wrecking recently. DL always where my favorit excersise but I have the feeling that I am overthinking technique which leads to almost change technique mid pull or something…
I was able to Pull 205kg @ RPE 7 but now I only manage to go to 180 maybe 190 and not feeling it.
