I think I've solved a small sleep problem. Maybe this will help you too.

TL;DR - I put my phone in another room last night and got another 45 minutes of sleep this morning.

Even though I don’t have to be up and at 'em until 6:50, I seem to wake up every single morning around 5:50-6AM. It’s strangely consistent. I inevitably look at my phone to see what time it is, there are always a few notifications to look at, which eventually leads to scrolling as I lay in bed. I often don’t feel particularly rested in the morning after this, so I tried the old trick of just putting my phone in a different room last night.

I woke up again at 5:55 this morning, but instead of looking at my phone, I checked my watch, then just laid there with my thoughts far past the amount of time that I would have held out on checking my phone. I eventually dozed off and got another 45 minutes of sleep and I feel MUCH better this morning than I have in a long time.

I’m excited to see if this continues and what effect it might have on my rest, recovery, mood, and progress in the gym.

Might be worth a try if you are like me.

I can condense what I know about sleep hygiene to the following:

Only do sleep or sex in your bedroom.

Nice idea! I have another one for anybody watching. A lot of times fatigue or feeling like you haven’t slept at all, after sleeping for hours, can be a sign that you aren’t having r.e.m sleep. After sleeping at a place where they evaluate your sleep, they said my brain was too active when i went to bed, and recommended to try to shower and do relaxing things before bed. has helped tons.
