Importance of restricting fat in post-workout meal

In your “To Be A Beast” article, you mention that you would restrict the fat content of the two meals immediately preceding and following a workout to 20g (for both meals combined) in people who have body fat to lose. I still have about 8-10kg to lose and currently, I consume a protein milkshake with some fruits (about 35g protein, 45g carbs and 0g fat) 1.5-2 hours before training in the early evening. I then eat dinner about 30-60 minutes after training.

How important is it to not exceed those 20g of fat? Is there a significant effect or is it more something along the lines of “if you can do it, great, but don’t bother if it’s a hassle”? I ask because I have a hard time to cook a low-fat meal (it also goes against my palate).

I wouldn’t worry about it too much if you’re not having any issues with compliance (or dieting).

Thank you, will do!
