In season lifting program. Critique?

Hello. Wanted to get your guys input on my in season(lacrosse) lifting program. It’s basically Starr’s in season 5x5 with rpe.

Sunday- Game
Monday- Off
Tuesday Morning- Deadlift: 5reps@9, Bench: 5reps@6, 5reps@7, 5reps@8, 5reps@9, 8reps@9
Tuesday Evening- Team Practice
Wednsday Morning- Power Clean: 5sets of 3reps(No rpe), Military Press: 5reps@6, 5reps@7, 5reps@8, 5reps@9, 8reps@9
Wednsday Evening- Team Practice
Thursday Morning- Squat: 5reps@6, 5reps@7, 5reps@8, 5reps@9
Thursday Evening- Team Practice
Friday- Off
Saturday- Game

So as you can see, squats and pressing ramp up to a set of 5@9, and the pressing has a back off set of 8@9 because from my understanding, upper body needs more volume. Deadlifts don’t ramp up, just one set of 5@9 because of how taxing deadlifts are. I don’t use rpe with the power cleans because I’m not sure if they can/should be used with rpe. Critique would be highly appreciated!

I’d probably drop kick the sets @ 9 on squats and deadlifts and do 1-2 sets of 5 as back offs for squats and pulls and 2-3 for upper body lifts. I’d probably do an EMOM of powercleans for 15 minutes where you added weight to the bar every 2 makes vs 5 triples across.

Thanks for your reply Mr. Feigenbaum! How much of a drop should the back off sets be?

I always have wondered if it’s appropriate to correct people who call me “Mr. Feigenbaum” (that’s my dad) to instead call me “Dr. Feigenbaum.”

I prefer Jordan either way, just sayin’.

In any event, I would drop 5-10% for the back off sets.

Haha just being polite. Thanks for your help Jordan!
