I’ve seen you say before that NMN does not have any evidence to suggest any benefit in humans or rodents (if i understood correctly), and is generally overhyped.
What about Charles Brenner’s nicotinamide riboside, or as it’s better known, TruNiagen by Chromadex? I’ve been following Brenner for a while and he promotes NR a lot (but of course, his claims are nowhere near as outrageous as Sinclair’s claims about NMN).
Is NR (or any NAD+ supplement really) likely to help a semi-strong healthy and disease-free individual when it comes to strength performance (in a 1RM context, asking since the truniagen website claims NR will boost muscle health and function) or just generally improve “healthspan” (also in an already healthy person), or should I save the cash?
Is it necessary to supplement with TruNiagen or any other NAD product as you get up in years, since I keep hearing people say “NAD+ declines with age and that’s bad”. Does that decline tangibly affect much when it comes to your health and performance? (because afaik it starts declining ever since you are born, or at least that’s what the Tru Niagen website says). Brenner himself also claims supplementing NR has improved his exercise recovery.
