I’ve been having some issues recently with some 4/10 knee pain at the top lockout of the squat. The pain is manageable, but I fear it may get worse. It seems to hurt the most in the low bar squat, as my feet are placed wider (2 - 3 inches outside of shoulder width). It feels like bone is grinding on bone, I know this is not the case but that’s the best way I can describe it… a rubbing feeling/pain that luckily stays local but sometimes makes the rest of my body shake. I do not have a valgus knee issue, nor on any other point of the squat do I feel pain.
My squat form is fine. Sometimes under heavy loads (this is also when the most pain occurs) my hips will shoot up too quick but nothing to scream about.
I will start playing toe angles and width with my low-bar. I tried to look info on this pain online, but had really no luck. Any insight or shared experience is appreciated.
