I recently had an episode of atrial fibrillation which was resolved with one treatment of Flecainide. I am 24 and otherwise healthy, don’t smoke or drink to excess etc.
When leaving the hospital I asked the Doc about exercise especially high intensity lifting, his advice was a bit hand wavy. Any advice on how to go about training from here?
We don’t have much about the details of your evaluation for this episode (e.g., do you have obstructive sleep apnea, some congenital conduction system/structural heart issue, etc.) BUT if the rest of the evaluation was normal, I wouldn’t do anything differently from a training standpoint for a young, healthy individual based off of one brief episode like this. There are certain heart conditions that, if found, would potentially change this answer, however.
