Lipoma removal

I had a lipoma removed sort of where the bar sits for low bar position and I was wondering if it was safe to squat:

5 weeks ago and a couple inches above what Rip always calls “the spine of the scapula”, I had the lipoma removed. It was about 4 inches long (left to right) and about an inch wide with some smaller “branches” jetting down to where the bar sits during a low bar squat. As expected, there was a huge hematoma after surgery which has since subsided normally, though some blood pockets remain (at least that’s what it feels like). My surgeon said I could work out after two weeks, but I didn’t ask him about bar placement.

Is it safe to put a loaded bar on it? Today I squatted 170 lbs 3x5, this being my second week of novice LP. It does not hurt, though maybe feels a bit weird. I’m having visions of exploding hematoma mid set lol.

Thanks for your time

Without examining the area, we can’t say for sure, though after 5 weeks things have most likely healed up just fine, and hematomas reabsorbed. If you still have concerns or discomfort, just high bar.

Ok, thanks so much. I did give high bar a go, but unfortunately it put the bar right on top of the incision. Oh well… It doesn’t hurt really at all so maybe I’ll keep low barring and be mindful of it.

Also sorry for the weird verbiage in the first post. I wrote it about an hour after taking an antihistamine lol.

Thanks again

I squatted the same day I had a lipoma removed that was similarly placed and a little bigger.
