LISS and HIIT

Hi,

A quick question in relation to gpp and LISS and HIIT.
I train BJJ 2-3 times per week and just wondering if that would be considered a decent substitute for LIIS and HIIT or would I still need to add some to my current weekly schedule. I’m currently doing powerbuilding 1 on week 7.
I usually do arm work and upper back work at the end of my lifting days so that’s no problem. I have missed a lot of Ab work though.

I’d count it as HIIT, but would still do some LISS for performance and health purposes. Another 2x/wk should probably cover it from a health perspective.

One more quick question, what would you recommend as in the next step after powerbuilding 1. Obviously powerbuilding 2 seems like the choice but would you recommend maybe trying hypertrophy 1 and then strength 1. Or vice versa.

My main goal is strength followed by size.

I think powerbuilding II would be good if you want to step-up to 4x/wk training, enjoyed the type of training in the previous template, and also saw good results from it.

Yeah I’m going to move onto powerbuilding II in 3 weeks once I’m finished the initial PB programme. I will work the 4 lifting days and 2 gpp days with my jiu jitsu training, might have to re gig some lifting days and gpp days but will manage it.
Ive also noticed my waist circumference has decreased after following your advice on a maintenance diet and continuing with PB I. Thanks for that.
One last question in terms of hypertrophy, I find that my traps are underdeveloped. Would it be advisable to add in some direct trap work and if so what would you advise as good exercises for trap development.?
