Macro/Calorie Cycling

Do you often recommend macro or calorie cycling? I know it was recommended in the “To Be A Beast” article, but I feel like I saw or heard you say it wasn’t really recommended anymore. If you do recommend it, how much of a difference would there be between a GPP day and a regular training day?

Let’s assume the person is fairly advanced and has no issues with adherence.

Also, I would be curious if the answer differs for muscle gain or fat loss.

I think it can be used to enhance compliance (and thus effect), but if there’s no difference in compliance then I wouldn’t say it’s better (or worse) for outcomes. I don’t like using it in people who need to lose a lot of bodyweight for a bunch of different reasons.
