Macro Tweaks for BF Loss on Fluffy Intermediate

Greetings Jordan!
Was wondering which, if any, tweaks you would make to my existing macros based on the following info:

  1. Age: 37
  2. Height: 5’10”
  3. Weight: 218.6 lbs
  4. BF: 26% - Navy
  5. Program: Bridge v2.0 – 3 weeks in
  6. Protein/Carbs/Fat: 246/208/89 – measured via My Fitness Pal for 3 weeks
  7. Misc: Most of my protein comes from meat (beef, chicken, eggs), with some from WPI as well. My fiber has averaged 19/day – if that matters.

My weight (measured daily) has fluctuated between 217 & 219 over the past 3 weeks. Umbilicus measurement has gone from 41.5” to 40.5” (yay!) as my initial goal was for fat loss. I have been pleased with the results so far from visual appearance and the umbilicus measurements. I could care less about overall weight. I was considering increasing my carbs because I find myself more tired than previous to embarking on this program at these macros. I get 8hrs of sleep per night on average and was concerned I may be limiting recovery by having too few carbs? I am also seeing some of my strength numbers go up, which makes me wonder if it’s lack of nutritional recovery or other factors??

Any feedback would be great!!

Thanks as always!!

If you’re losing weight then I wouldn’t change anything. If not, I’d end up pulling fat down by 20g.

I think that linking nutrition intake and recovery or acute performance (outside of extreme weight cuts , dehydration, overfeeding, etc.) is foolish and obfuscates what we know about factors governing performance.

Thanks for the response, Jordan. Does the affect of nutrition on performance diminish once a lifter transitions from novice to intermediate / advanced? I’m asking because it seems like a ubiquitous cause of “sticking” for novices on LP is inadequate nutrition.

I do not think that the failure of novice LP is due to undereating outside of very underweight individuals.
