Macros check

I am:
a 44 year old male
6’2"
230 pounds
40" waist at navel
30% bf according to Navy calculator.
I started building what has been my typical daily diet in myfitnesspal.com. My daily caloric intake has been around 1900 Calories which is surprising as I feel I eat quite a bit. I have been on SS for 13 weeks, have only gained about 10 pounds of body weight (I did not check my body fat prior to starting), and have been pleased with my weekly progress until now. I have finally started to fail and am planning to reset next workout. According to the “To Be a Beast” article, I should be ingesting about 288g of protein, 230g of carbs, and 62g of fat from about 2630 Calories in order to lose fat.

Questions:
Since you have advised lower quantities of protein and Calories for other posters, would you also recommend a lower intake for me as well?
Would you suggest transitioning to an Intermediate program such as The Bridge now or should I continue with the reset and see how that goes?

Thank you in advance for all the work you have put into this site!

Turku,

I would advise that you should lose weight at the moment and if LP is no longer working for you, switching to The Bridge is fine by me.

However, I think it is unlikely that you’ve been eating 1900 cals/day and gaining weight. I would guess that your intake is higher than that.

I would agree that I have definitely made a mistake somewhere along on my Calories. I am guessing I have a portion size wrong somewhere.

Would you recommend my keeping the macros at 288g of protein, 230g of carbs, and 62g of fat from about 2630 Calories in order to lose fat?

It is not possible for me to advise you on caloric intake when I don’t know what you’re eating right now. I think if you’re gaining weight on what you presume to be 1900calories then it wouldn’t be hard to imagine 2630 calories causing significant weight gain. I don’t think that’s a good idea.
