Re: To be a Beast Macro Implementation

For starters, a Little bit about myself.

6" 6’ Tall
270 lbs
46" Waist
340lb Squat
455lb Deadlift
200lb Bench
155lb Press
30% Bodyfat( this is purely a guess, I carry all my fat at my midsection, my arms and legs are lean AF)

I used to weigh in at 320 lbs with zero muscle mass, when I began my strength journey 4 years ago it was a struggle to Bench the empty bar. Along the way ive lost some fat and put on some muscle mostly thanks to you, Jordan and your team at BBM. I am a voracious consumer of content for all things strength and nutrition and I have learned way more from you guys than anywhere else. Kudos.

I always seem to hit a wall around the 265 lb marker, I would just like some clarification on Macro Implementation.

According to the fat loss protocol my macros according to my weight are
3085 Calories
338 Protein
270 Carbs
73 Fat

I hit my calorie total consistently, for protein I am always between 250-280 and my fat is usually around 100g and the rest is filled out with carbs, a few questions…

  1. Is this enough protein, or should I really be reaching for 340?
  2. Is it okay to go over on the fat for palate pleasing reasons as long as I stay within the calorie restriction.
  3. Should I be using my body weigh for these calculations or LBM or target bodyweight?

Thanks again for all that you do!

Brian

Hey Brian,

  1. I would recommend 250g protein or so.

  2. Yes, technically.

  3. It doesn’t matter. We don’t know your current calorie intake so I can’t predict if your LBM or total body weight will do a better job with setting your initial macros.
