To Be A Beast

I heard through one of your channels that the “To Be a Beast” article was being updated. I was wondering if the macros for a male trying to gaining muscle are still the same (Protein 1.1g/lb, Carbs 2g/lb, Fat .5g/lb)?

For me being a male 185lbs, that would put me at 3,132 calories/day. This is about 300calories higher than my current set point of 2,850 calories/day. Is this still a reasonable place to start?

Other data, if it matters, 58yr male, 6’1", ~10% bodyfat per navy test, just finished your HLM template and starting the 4-day hypertrophy template this week. With plans to do the 12wk strength after. Overall goal to gain strength, while minimizing weight gain. I rock climb, so power to weight ratios is important to me.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jordan has recently updated the basics of this article and those recommendations still stand. If you are hoping to gain weight and this is a caloric increase, that is a good start for sure.

Thanks Leah again for your help. I assume the new article has not been release yet? The one on the website says last updated in 2015. Thanks again.

You want to gain muscle but minimize weight gain?

I mean he has read over those macro guidelines recently and they still stand. We are working on a number of article updates, but again, you can get started now and see how this small increase works for you, most definitely.
