Max Heart Rate: Predictive of Performance?

Doctors,

I’m curious, and the internet has not satisfied my inquiries: Is having a relatively low/high maximum heart rate for your age predictive of any sort of performance? For example, does having a maximum heart rate that is lower than average hint at a predisposition towards an ability in long endurance events, or in shorter activities? I’m not sure if any data exists on this.

My max heart rate of ~180 at age 20 is what sparked by curiosity.

Thanks!

Not that I’m aware of, but I’d bet your actual max HR is much higher than 180.
