I get migraines after training sometimes. What causes this and is there a way to prevent it? Is it related to blood pressure rise and fall when using the valsalva maneuver while deadlifting? It does seem to happen more frequently after deadlifting. I’ve been seeing a neurologist about it for a couple of year and he hasn’t been able to give me a solid answer.
These sound like they’re more likely exertion headaches than true migraines, though I could be wrong. Many people in the general public just refer to any “bad” headache as a “migraine”, which is not accurate. Migraines are a very specific type of headache - and you’ve already been seeing a neurologist (i.e., headache experts). I’m probably not going to have much to add here.
