Myo-Reps vs. 8s

I noticed an update to the 3 day hypertrophy template involves a movement from doing 8s to myoreps on one of the movements. I tried searching for this on google but haven’t seen anything on this specifically →

I’m just curious here, aside from the time savings, what is the benefit of doing myo-reps vs. just doing sets of 8 for the same accessory movement? Or is it just personal preference?

I think from a hypertrophy stimulus per unit fatigue, myoreps tend to be a little better than sets of 8-12 at relatively similar RPEs of myoreps.
