New to running what do?

Hey Docs! I have recently decided to train for a 5k for fun and added cardio for health. I have two questions: 1) any tips or advice for weekly programming for running and 2) what is the consensus of a ‘top down’ or “emerging strategies” type approach to running?

Our programming strategies for a 5k run are demonstrated in our endurance template.

Not sure that applying a top-down, emerging strategies type approach to an endurance task is something I have any opinion on other than I think it wouldn’t be high yield until you’re more trained.
