Having watched much of the starting strength content surrounding how people are not correctly implementing the program I was wondering if Austin and Jordan, in being so highly proficient with the material, went about reading the books in a different fashion?
What do you mean “reading the books in a different fashion”?
I suppose it’s the distinction between reading for pleasure and reading for knowledge; I assume that your medical background requires you to absorb more information than the layman when you’re reading so when you were going through the books for the first time were you taking notes and rewriting the material or is it that you simply find it easier to understand the mechanics of the movements because of your former training?
I didn’t take notes or re-write any of the material. I did, however, read the books a few times through, as they’re fairly dense. Prior knowledge and training definitely helps make it easier to wade through it all, as well as actively trying to put it into practice with coaching and teaching others to solidify your own understanding.
