I’m a 54 year old male, approximately 6 months ago I began having pain in my right knee. When I was a teenager I suffered from Osgood Slaughter disease in both knees. It had not been an issue for over 35 years. I took two weeks off from squats and resumed doing only box squats for the last three months. I squat on a 13.5 inch box which puts me right at parallel. My question will I be able to low bar squat again? Every time I try the pain comes back it starts as tightness directly through the calcium deposit on my knee. Then quickly turns into significant pain. I’d really like to squat again.any advice or suggestions welcome, thank you.
- Schlatter disease.
I think Osgood Slaughter Disease is a Norwegian death metal band…
Close. They’re from Sweden. Were discovered by Oyvey Iminpain or Yngwie Malmsteen

@DLB Thanks for the question. Have you sought recent consult for this issue? If so, what were you told?
Have you tried slowly decreasing the depth cue to achieve your desired range of motion while moderating loading to tolerance? Might help rather than going from the box squat at parallel to your normal depth squat. What has programming looked like for provocative movements most recently?
