Hi Docs
Thanks again for all the great content this year. I’m working my way through a stack of books that Santa delivered…one of them is called “Drunk Tank Pink”, by Adam Alter. The name of the book is in reference to some correctional facilities painting their prisoner holding cells pink…which apparently has a calming effect on otherwise rowdy newcomers. Alter refers to some research studies where the subjects where exposed to pink and/or blue colors and then compared strength…measured by downward arm pressure…and in another study, the use of a dynomometer. Okay now it was a small sample size but results seemed pretty consistent that subjects were weaker when then looked at pink vs blue (regardless of whether they tested pink or blue first). Sooo…wondering if you guys might have looked at anything like this in the past. Important implications for me…I often train with my wife who has some pink tops…do I need to burn those…or find a new training partner? Should I paint the garage blue (including our car)?
