Pin bench and Pin Press question

Hello,

I’ve added in some pin bench and pin presses into my program in an attempt to increase strength on the bench and overhead press. I assumed that you put the pins at a level where the bar usually “sticks.” For me the bench sticks about 2 inches off my chest and the press sticks at about nose or eye level, so I’ve been putting the pins there for each lift.

Is that a reasonable way to approach the pin bench and pin press?

Thanks.

Sunil

I have done pin presses at shoulder level and and above my forehead, e.g. a low and high pin press. I don’t think working at the sticking point is ideal, because the real velocity loss happened earlier than where the bar stops moving.
