Hi,
In the past two weeks my coach (not a BBM coach) came to the conclusion I may be dealing with some tendinopathy in my shoulder. Since January I have been training for a powerlifting meet in April which has been canceled in the COVID situation. I began to not be able to hit my normal bench press numbers and eventually my shoulder gave up on final reps with no “pain” just plainly gave out. I do know where it starts to give out and had been planning on working with the weights and reps I know I can do and working up from there.
I found out a few days ago that I am now pregnant. In the google search on tendinopathy and pregnancy I did not turn up much about how to train in this situation. More info was available on how pregnancy hormones play a role in tendinitis but not how to lift weights around it. Can I “rehab” this while pregnant or is all the hormonal malarkey going to wreak havoc on how my body responds?
I do understand that I will need to have a conversation with my doctor about this but I feel as though this isn’t a topic she often encounters. Any and all advice or direction to sources I can look up would be appreciated.
thank you
